Known as “the Old Lady”, the Soufriere Volcano, always active, intrigues and fascinates.
\nNo stay in Basse-Terre without trying a hike, but beware of the weather …
\nCulminating at 1467m, you will contemplate the archipelago of the Saintes Islands and Dominica weather permitting.<\/span><\/p>\n

The starting point is the “Bains Jaunes” in Saint-Claude.<\/span>
\nThe ascent takes about 2 hours walking, first takes the paved path of the “Pas du Roy” through the moist forest,<\/span>
\nand continues from the car park of “Savane-a-Mulets” at the foot of the dome by the “Chemin des Dames”<\/span>
\nin the savannah of altitude.<\/span><\/p>\n

Upon arrival, the marked trails will lead you to eruptive chasms and sulfurous vapors.<\/span>
\nRain, clouds and wind are frequent at the summit. So plan appropriate clothes.<\/span>
\nEnjoy a refreshing bath in the Yellow Baths on your way back.<\/span><\/p>\n
