The Blue Pool in Gourbeyre

Let’s leave the Lamateliane cottages in Guadeloupe for a small tour at the Blue Pool,
on the heights of Gourbeyre, on the island of Basse-Terre.
An ideal spot for spending a day with the family at the riverside.

The stroll takes you down an easy and shaded path, winding its way through a bananatree plantation and the tropical forest.

By this 1 km long path (approx. 0.6 miles), it won’t take more than 20 to 30 minutes
to reach the pool and to enjoy its cristal clear blue water.
Dug in rock, the pool is filled by a 6 meter high (approx. 20 ft) waterfall and offers a bath
of freshness in the mountain stream the Gallion born on the Soufriere Volcano.

For the brave ones, the hike can be continued upstream of the pool in order to reach
the waterfall of the Parabole (count on one hour of hiking, most of the time in the riverbed…).
